Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while things have been super crazy at the old homestead. Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know that I've started writing for a new gaming news site. The site is gametwerp.com and I really hope you'll come by and check it out.

Sony's 2.41 Update Could be out "midweek"

If you remember Sony decided to pull it's much anticipated 2.40 firmware shortly after it went up due to complaints from a small number of users experiencing problems. Now CVG reports:

According to customer support, firmware version 2.41, which should be clear of all errors, will out "midweek", although Sony is yet to make an official announcement to confirm that.

Here's hoping 2.41 goes off without a hitch. Because as someone who had zero problems with the 2.40 update, I can say that the additions are something every PS3 owner should experience.

Fact or Fiction: RockBand 2 Leaked Setlists

Due out sometime in September for the 360 and sometime "later" for everything else Rockband 2 has been hemorrhaging info left and right. Now it seems through an "oopsie" on G4 to a possibly NDA breaking playtester we have not one, but two leaked playlists for Harmonix sequal.

Capcom: Tropies to be Required

A moderator on the Capcom forums claims that trophy support will be required in future Capcom titles. In response to whether or not Devil May Cry 4 or Puzzle fighter HD remix would be receiving trophy support Sven replied:

DMC4 is unlikely as the game is done and it has its own little trophylike system

Puzzle Fighter is also unlikely. The game is done and the team that made it is on other stuff.

SSF2T HD Remix, undetermined at this time. We'll have to see what schedules look like and what Sony's requirements are.

New games that are started from here on out though, it's a safe bet that they'll be there (it's been worked into CEI's developer contracts as a required deliverable).
